New Puppy and Sleeping habits

We rececently added a second Jrt to our family and couldn't be more thrilled. He is 12 weeks at this point, and has already learned the joys of sleeping in bed with my husband, myself, and our 2 year old JRT. However, we also have 2 sons, 13 and 11, who we would like the dogs to be able to sleep with also. The new puppy refuses to sleep in the room with our younger son,(He will sleep with the older son if given a choice) and there is no apparent reason why. Should we try crating the puppy in his room for awhile, so he gets used to being there? This has quickly become a sensitive issue with our son feeling rejected by the new puppy.
